I will give a quick introduction to big Ramsey degrees, sketch proofs of some basic results, and I will try to explain the ideas behind these proofs.
The talk is intended as an introduction to the topic, setting up the background for the talk of Jan Hubička. There will be a substantial overlap with the talk I gave at this seminar in June 2021.
