2021 Mary Ellen Rudin Award

Dr. Bergfalk is awarded this prize for his exceptional work on the interactions between algebraic topology and set theory.

Dr. Bergfalk has been awarded US$ 10,000 from Elsevier to be used to support the winner to travel to and attend major conferences in topology, or to support travel and living expenses while on a visiting appointment at leading research center of her/his/their choice.

Moreover, organizers of the Spring Topology and Dynamics Conference (STDC) and the annual Summer Conference on Topology and its Applications (SUMTOPO) will invite the winner to be one of their regularly funded plenary speakers.

The award is sponsored by Elsevier on behalf of the journal _Topology and its Applications_, together with the annual Spring Topology and Dynamical Systems Conference, the annual Summer Conference on Topology and its Applications and the Conference of the European Set Theory Society.

The award aims to celebrate Mary Ellen Rudin’s achievements and her legacy, together with encouraging the development of young talent in mathematics.
