The area of responsibility of occupational medicine includes comprehensive medical advice on occupational safety for all employees of the University of Vienna. Other important topics include nutrition, exercise, correct posture at work and the prevention of health problems.

Responsibility:

• Providing advice for employees and employers
• Inspections, visits, evaluations
• Occupational health examinations/vaccinations
• Other activities: Coordination of occupational physicians and with other preventive specialists,    participation in ASA meetings, further training, documentation

Consultations:

• Regarding the ergonomic design of the workplace and work processes
• In the case of health problems related to work/work environment
• On the reintegration of employees after longer absences
• In case of accidents and near-accidents
• Regarding taking care of specially protected people (expectant mothers, adolescents and favored disabled persons)

Defibrillator:

The FRED easy® is a so-called Public Access Defibrillator (PAD). PADs are devices for semi-automatic defibrillation by non-medical personnel.
