Defined by Haiman, wreath Macdonald polynomials are
generalizations of the modified Macdonald polynomials, wherein the
symmetric groups are replaced by their wreath products with a cyclic
group of fixed order r. I will introduce them and discuss how to study
them using quantum algebraic methods. Namely, the elliptic Hall
algebra, which is also the rank 1 quantum toroidal algebra, is replaced
with a rank r quantum toroidal algebra.
