The multiplicative cascade of loop-O(n) quadrangulations

Abstract: This talk is based on a work of Chen, Curien and Maillard (https://arxiv.org/abs/1702.06916), in which the authors prove a scaling limit result for the cascade of perimeters formed by the nested O(n) loops. I will first present an introductory-level overview of the (rigid) loop-O(n) model on quadrangulations, and then give an almost self-contained account of their arguments towards the scaling limit result. Part of the motivation for this talk is also to present some powerful ideas which are now classical in random planar maps, such as the gasket decomposition and the Bouttier-Di Francesco-Guitter bijection.
