Abstract: The Lindström–Gessel–Viennot lemma is a combinatorial result that evaluates a weighted summation of the tuples of non-intersecting paths on a locally finite directed acyclic graph. In this talk, we will present the lemma and use it to prove the equivalence of definitions of the Schur polynomial.
