Abstract:
This talk contains two parts.
First, I will show how the approach of modular reduction could be combined with the principle of holonomic Ansatz to resolve two conjectural evaluations of binomial determinants proposed by Koutschan, Krattenthaler and Schlosser.
Second, I will discuss the combinatorics for (two subclasses of) the KKS binomial determinants, from the perspective of domino tilings and nonintersecting lattice paths.
