Abstract: We investigate quasistatic evolution in a visco-elastic system featuring both Lagrangian and Eulerian variables. In our model the total deformation is defined as the composition of a viscous and an elastic deformation, in accordance with the classical multiplicative decomposition of the total strain. We are then able to prove existence of a weaker notion of solution. However, it is worth highlighting that this result not require non physical second-order gradients, which would grant more compactness.
