Gabor systems with Hermite functions

We recall some standard techniques from time-frequency analysis and present recent insights into the frame property of Gabor system with Hermite window functions. In particular, we will use the Janssen representation of the frame operator to extend a sufficiency criterion due to Gröchenig and Lyubarskii. By employing the Zak transform, we will prove that this sufficiency criterion, which was established for lattices, fails for more general periodic sampling sets. If time permits, we will also recall intertwining relations between time-frequency shifts and specific unitary operators. The results are partially joint work with Irina Shafkulovska (U Vienna) and Ilia Zlotnikov (NTNU Trondheim).
