Gabor frames on the adeles

Abstract:
I will present recent results on the construction of Gabor frames on the adeles over the rationals.
The main result is that the construction of Gabor frames for L^2 over the reals is equivalent to the construction of certain Gabor frames over the adeles.
On the way I will explain the basic notions of the adeles and how one can characterize the Feichtinger algebra on it. The results provide an example of Gabor frames on a domain that is rather different than the common domains such as the real line, the integers and the torus. This is joint work with Ulrik Enstad (UiO) and Franz Luef (NTNU).
