Abstract: The topic of this talk is the study of effective global generation of line bundles on smooth complex projective varieties motivated by Fujita's conjecture from several decades ago. After an overview of the area we will give a concise account of recent work of Ghidelli-Lacini and Chen-Küronya-Mustopa-Stix.
