We analyze a cell based model for the early stages of angiogenesis. The setting involves PDE's of reaction diffusion type, describing the evolution of the concentration of certain proteins, which are coupled with a system of SDE's describing the movement of the different cells. In this talk we will discuss the solvability of the (non-)linear reaction diffusion equations in terms of a classical solution. Furthermore we will give some ideas about the open problems arising in this stochastic setting and possible ways to solve them.
