Abstract: A set A of integers is called additively decomposable if there exist sets B,C of integers of cardinality at least two each such that A=B+C. We will describe work in progress (joint with Klurman and Konieczny) regarding additive decomposability of multiplicative subsemigroups of the integers - an instance of the difficult cohabitation of additive and multiplicative properties.
