Am 24. November 2017 wurde unserem Kollegen Michael Eichmair der diesjährige Förderungspreis der ÖMG verliehen. Im Bericht der Jury lautet es und wurde bei der Verleihung verlesen: "The committee feels that Michael Eichmair has reached a level of distinction within mathematics that goes far beyond the necessary requirements for the award. He is well deserving and it is an honor to recommend him for this distinction."
