Oliver obtained his PhD in Physics at ETH Zurich. After postdoctoral positions at Stanford and ETH Zurich, he became a full professor at the Observatory and University of Nice. Oliver is an expert in computational astrophysics and cosmology who aims to better understand the formation and evolution of cosmic structures. In 2015, he received an ERC Starting Grant on „Astrophysics for the Dark Universe: Cosmological simulations in the context of dark matter and dark energy research“. His research on numerical modeling and data analysis also unfolds ties to new developments in machine learning. Oliver’s expertise, research excellence, and excitement will promote the field of Data Science in Vienna. We welcome Oliver wholeheartedly to our Faculty!
