Automorphic L-functions: Intertwining operators & meromorphic continuation

14.01.2020 13:15 - 14:45

Harald Grobner (University of Vienna)

It's no secret that the meromorphic continuation of global L-functions (e.g., of modular forms or elliptic curves) plays a significant role in analytic number theory. Almost as apparent, the meromorphic continuation of intertwining operators between induced representations is of high importance for the structure-theory of representations of local and global groups. In this talk we will try to review and explain some instances of how these two aspects of meromorphic continuation are linked. (Unless a miracle happens, none of the results, which we will present, will be ours.)
