The team of the faculty of mathematics did very well at the Vojtech Jarnik Mathematical Competion, which is held at the University of Ostrava every year in March or April. Particularly Josef Greilhuber achieved an outstanding result by ending up third in Category II amidst a strong field of participants from 37 universities.
