Abstract:

Plasma physics deals with the behaviour of ionized gases, constituting a distinct state of matter known as plasma, and it is an essential research area due to its significant impact on various technological applications such as fusion energy research, plasma displays or plasma processing for microelectronics. This talk begins with the presentation of the bipolar Euler-Maxwell equations, a fundamental model in plasma physics. We will then explain the general idea behind the relative energy method to obtain stability results. In a second part, we present some recent results of the application of this method in a more simplified framework - the bipolar Euler-Poisson system, where the magnetic effects are neglected. At last, we present some questions for further research.
