We characterize the inclusion relations between weighted spaces of entire functions in terms of the defining weights. First, we consider weights defined by so-called associated weight functions for which the weight is based on a given weight sequence. Then the abstract weight function setting is reduced to this particular setting by using the associated weight sequence. We also investigate weighted spaces defined by weight function systems subject to a positive real parameter. Finally, we apply the developed techniques in order to characterize closedness under pointwise multiplication of such classes.
