Observability for quantum dynamics: an optimal transport approach

08.02.2023 11:00 - 12:00

Francois Golse (Ecole Polytechnique)

Abstract: Observability for a solution of a PDE refers to the possibility of deducing its solution from some partial information — typically, from knowing the restriction of the solution to some subdomain. This property is obviously related to inverse problems; it is also related to control theory by the Lions Hilbert Uniqueness Method. The purpose of this talk is to explain how some ideas in quantum optimal transport can be used to obtain observability results with effective constants on some quantum dynamical equations, such as the Schrödinger and the Heisenberg equations.
