Every frame is the sum of three orthonormal bases

19.01.2022 10:45 - 11:30

Frederick Moscatelli (University of Vienna)

In this talk we will discuss a certain way to represent frames. A quick reminder on equivalent definitions of frames will be given, in particular, the characterization of frames via surjective bounded operators.

We will prove the result that any frame can be written as the sum of at most three orthonormal bases.

We will give an example which shows that it is in general not possible to only use two orthonormal bases.
