Congratulations, Anton!

Congratulations to Anton Mellit on the award of an ERC Consolidator Grant 2020!

In his breakthrough work in the area of “enumerative geometry”, our colleague Anton Mellit has confirmed several long-standing conjectures that relate invariants in algebraic geometry, combinatorics, low-dimensional topology, and theoretical physics. Along the way, he has discovered profound and surprising new connections between these fields.

Anton obtained his PhD under the supervision of Don Zagier at the University of Bonn in 2008. After postdoctoral positions at several prestigious institutions, Anton joined the Faculty of Mathematics as a tenure track Assistant Professor in September 2017.

Anton's ERC Consolidator Grant is entitled “Refined invariants in combinatorics, low-dimensional topology and geometry of moduli spaces” — or REFINV for short.

We are very excited and happy for you, Anton!
