Abstract: Transverse momentum dependent (TMD) factorization is an important tool for the description of differential cross-sections and for the exploration of hadron's intrinsic structure. The leading-power TMD factorization is known in detail, while power corrections remain almost unexplored. In this talk, I present a novel approach to the TMD factorization (transverse momentum dependent operator expansion). This approach is methodologically similar to the light-cone operator product expansion and allows for a systematic computation of power corrections to TMD factorization. In particular, it gives rise to the definition of TMD-twist, which sorts TMD operators with respect to their evolution properties and provides a certain decomposition of power corrections into kinematic and genuine ones. As a demonstration of the approach, I present the computation of the next-to-leading power correction at next-to-leading order in the perturbative series and discuss properties of power suppressed TMD distributions.
