The University of Vienna is kicking off the 2026/27 winter semester with its Welcome Weeks. Students can look forward to a wide range of events and services – from practical tips for everyday university life and opportunities to connect with fellow students to information on health and sustainable mobility.
How is my degree programme structured? What are the next steps? How does semester planning work? And what do I need to know about the Studieneingangs- und Orientierungsphase (STEOP), the introductory and orientation phase of the degree programme? These and many other questions will be addressed at the orientation events for your programme.
At many university locations, additional welcome events will take place alongside the orientation events. They offer an opportunity to get to know the University of Vienna, meet fellow students and discover important support services – helping you get off to a well-prepared start to the semester.
