2 PhD positions funded by the VSM have been selected!

The Vienna School of Mathematics (VSM) is happy to announce that the candidates for the first 2 PhD positions funded by the VSM have been selected.

The following successful candidates will start working at the Faculty of Mathematics within the first quarter of 2021:

 Matthias Ostermann:

Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at the University of Vienna Bachelor of Science in Physics at the University of Vienna Master of Science in Mathematics at the University of Vienna; Thesis: The Wave Equation in Hyperboloidal Similarity Coordinates; Supervisor: Assoz. Prof. Mag. Dr. Roland Donninger - PhD project: Stable Blowup in the Whole Space for Maps and Yang-Mills Models (Supervisor: Roland Donninger)

Eric Stenhede:

Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Università di Pisa Master degree in Mathematics, Università di Pisa; Thesis: Branched Covers, Open Books and Contact Structures; Advisor: Prof. Paolo Lisca - PhD project: Legendrian Knots and Open Books (Supervisor: Vera Vértesi)
